Welp, unfollowed my daily quota of one blog just now for social justice bullshit, with the inevitable flavor of demonizing fedoras rather than actual behavior, and a healthy dose of “only men commit rape.” This particular warrior of justice chose to redefine “rape” as “awkwardly standing closer to me than I want and occasionally brushing up against me.”

An alternate explanation, to those more scientifically-minded and less tumblr-brainwashed, is that throughout most of human evolution the female seeks a male possessing the abilities necessary to provide her offspring with the best chances of survival. Which in early human societies was often centered more around the male’s social reputation. Meanwhile the male seeks a female based primarily on her genetic contributions to the potential child, as in early human societies the female’s duties largely involved nursing the infant rather than providing for it. Thus, the female’s personality-based contributions would be relatively minor in comparison, so long as she was not likely to outright kill the infant through malicious act or negligence.
But science is hard, it’s much easier to rant and scream because other peoples’ sexual preferences do not perfectly mirror your own. By the same logic, might we “conclude” that the “significantly higher” rate of homosexual behavior in females stems not from a higher biological inclination but the “fact” that both girls and boys are “taught” to see men as useless and undesirable?
